Craig A. Sargent
Biography
With over 20 years experience handling civil litigation matters, Craig Sargent's litigation practice includes medical cases, malpractice defense, medical practice management, and drug and medical device litigation. Craig also handles business and commercial litigation and has experience in plaintiff personal injury, breach of contract, insurance bad faith, insurance defense, real estate litigation, and construction litigation.
Craig has tried numerous cases throughout Colorado and has represented clients from around the country. He has an active appellate practice and frequently handles cases in front of the Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court. Craig is trained as a mediator and serves as a trial and litigation consultant, including all aspects of pre-trial matters, development of discovery and trial strategies, witness/expert witness selection, witness preparation, deposition strategies, jury consulting, and trial monitoring.
He is a member of the American, Colorado, Denver, and Arapahoe County Bar Associations and is a member of the Defense Research Institute, where he serves on the Professionalism and Litigation Committees. Craig has been selected as a Fellow of the Colorado Bar Foundation and has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” and as a “Top Attorney in Colorado.” He served as an officer of the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association, including as its President in 2008-2009. Over the years he has served on the combined Denver and Colorado Bar Association Professionalism Committee, the Interprofessional Committee, and the Health Care Law Committee. Craig has been an invited lecturer for local and national legal and medical organizations on issues dealing with medical practice office management and medical malpractice issues in general.
Prior to joining Pryor Johnson Carney Karr Nixon in 2008, Craig was a shareholder at another area law firm. He is a graduate from The Ohio State University and the University of Denver College of Law. Craig has been married to his wife Laura since 1984 and together are raising their daughter Victoria and their son, Taylor.
