Biography

Brad Shefrin has served as a trial lawyer since completing a judicial clerkship in 1993. An AV-rated attorney, he brought his litigation practice to Pryor Johnson Carney Karr Nixon, P.C. in November 2006 following a successful partnership with a long-established Denver insurance defense firm.

Brad specializes in employment law, real estate litigation, construction defense litigation and insurance defense. He has defended more than 100 subcontractors in a myriad of construction defect litigation cases and recently obtained defense judgments exceeding $10 million in claims against his clients. He frequently serves as a consultant to other attorneys and insurance companies, and has testified as an expert witness in matters dealing with attorney fee disputes.

Brad’s management employment practice covers both municipal and private corporate employers in litigation and policy drafting in such areas as ADA, FMLA, FLSA, Wage Act Claims, Civil Rights, workplace privacy, drug testing, noncompete agreements, and administrative law. He has an immense working knowledge of the overlapping applications of various federal, state and regulatory laws, which continuously evolve as the incidence of employment claims – particularly those regarding discrimination – increases on the national level. A sought-out presenter, Brad has lectured to attorneys in presentations sponsored by the American Bar Association, the Colorado Municipal League, Stirling Education, the Non-Profit Administration Masters Program at Regis University, and the Denver and Colorado Claims Associations. He is a regularly featured expert on KUSA’s community help program, LawLine 9.
